My Sunday became complete with a little sunshine on the terrace and a gift from Saint Tropez. On her way back from the Cote d’Azur my old class mate and dear friend bought me a copy of the April| May  edition of Maison Française and Elle à table.

A  color guide in pocket size  has been sealed with this month’s edition of the Maison Française and comes in very handy if you are looking for the right tone in yellow, green or so. I’m afraid that this pocket will not be available outside France but it’s concept is smart and to copy for your own interiors project.

If you’re planning to color your walls | woodwork | floors | ceilings, you can check out the right tone in let’s say prune (the French name for violet/mauve) by comparing the tones by different manufacturers. If you look closely to the tones you can conclude that every brand in paint has its own typical palette. The scheme by Farrow & Ball is a little more grayish then the tones by Little Green. And the palette from Dulux is brighter than that of Blancolor.
