This post is part of the sequel about design classics. After Emilie bought a set of Danish wooden fauteuils, she changed the woollen fabric in off white for a khaki coloured cotton canvas. The upholstery has been done by an expert, whom advised her to renew the pillow filling. Although this renewal was a little financial setback, Emilie decided to renovate these Danish design classics thoroughly in order to enjoy them for the next 15 years. If she would not change the pillow filling, she would have to go back to the upholsterer within 2 years. The life cycle of the best quality in foam, applied for pillow filling, is 20 years tops. So our tip is to allocate a budget for professional upholstery when you have plans in buying a design classics. The total costs for 2x fauteuils were € 1200,00. This amount is equal for the price you’ll pay for a renovated set at any retro design store.
