Liberty is iconic for its floral patterns and enriched cotton fabrics. The fabrics of Liberty are of good quality and the prints never lose their style. For the decoration of interiors I do prefer a less decorative design, therefore I like to visit the shop for their scarves and interiors. As a brand Liberty is strong for its creative partnerships with other designers like Luella Bartley, Ronnie Wood or fashion houses like Givenchy, Hermes and Fendi. In the beginnings of the last century the possession of a scarf was a woman’s necessity. Nowadays the scarf is becoming a fashionable accessory for the Western and Eastern cultures. Herewith some designs by Ronnie Woods, Hermes and Liberty’s own design team.

The last but not the least reason why I like to visit Liberty’s department store is for its interior design. The team that was responsible for the decoration of the store and the cafe’s did a good job in designing a light hearted atmosphere for each location. Have a look at Liberty’s café; the chairs by Patricia Urquiola combine perfectly with the ‘French’ cafe tables and the Tom Dixon lamps. The rather impressive papered walls do match well with the tribal design of the chairs and fifties look of the lamps and tables. All together the mix of the designer’s furniture, accessories and wall papers results in an airy and fresh café interior.

Probably the best advice is to travel to London and experience the Liberty Christmas decorations at their store.
