Steve Jobs & Eric Schmidt sitting on my fav Tolix chair: from Bloomberg Businessweek, april 26-may 2, 2010
In the last week’s European edition of Bloomberg Businessweek this pic of Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt caught my eyes. Not for the reason that these powerful guys had a chat at a local Starbucks but for the Tolix A chair in brut verni. Brut verni is the name for its colouring and metallurgy. On Tolix’s website the French brand refers to it as Cataphoresis. I’m not accustomed to this reference, so I call it varnished taupe. Due to the innovative spirits and drive of its founder, Xavier Pauchard, Tolix became a national supplier of stackable chairs for French hospitals, factories, terraces and public parks. Next to its sober design, this chair is light and to use in-and outdoors. In 2009 I’ve spend a lot of time sitting on the A chair while writing my thesis and I must confess that it is comfortable too!
