The January | February edition of Vogue Living is out and the contents will not disappoint you. Next to a peek into David Mallets Parisian workspace and home and the interiors of a new Soho hotel, there is this Sicilian apartment of Mariella Ienna. With the help of a local architect and craftsmen she created two crisp but intimate apartments in the centre of Palermo. Ienna painted some traditional Sicilian furniture pieces black and combined them with Kartell’s transparent line in chairs, stools and lamps. Mariella is a designer and was, at the time of the decoration of her apartments, inspired by the wild plants that grow in Sicily. She created some lamp shades that fit well in her interiors. The visual above is a pic of one of her stylish settings. Please have a look at the white soup bowl that has been simply filled with some green leaves. I must say this kind of vegetal arrangements appeal to me; it’s simple but decorative and will last for a while.
